Cleaning Calipers?

Alrite guys, am planning on painitg my calipers but i wanted to know whats the best way to get all the break dust and general s**t off of them first??

I just spray them with brake cleaner and give them a good wire brush.

That was the original plan, but there was a lack of brake cleaner lol, any other ideas???

Cheap as chips buy a can ?

Wire brush alone should be fine.
