what the best way to clean an engine whilst on a stand? steam cleaner pressure washer?

and whats the best way to plug/block the inlet/exhaust ports to stop water getting in them.

shove cloth in the ports and anywhere you dont want to get water, then jetwash away.

thanks that's Saturdays job done.

if any water happens to get anywhere it should what would be the best way to remove it/dry it. leave it dry naturally or use a heat gun/hair-dryer

blow it out with an airline if you can. wouldn't worry about a few drops though, it'll soon evaporate ones it's running. squirt of wd40 if it's going to be sitting a while
