Cleaning induction kit

Hi, can anyone give me any tips for the best way to clean my induction kit(cone filter) and also whats best to use to clean it, dont really wanna buy the offical cleaning kit if possible. I heard somewhere petrol is good for cleaning oil out of filters is this true?

Warm soapy water, you'll have to agitate the dirt off of it.

Then after you've left it to air dry give it a light spray of oil and re-fit.

aerosol brake cleaner will agitate the dirt and wash it away. will dry fairly quickly too
