All depends on budget and what results your wanting to get.

Nothing wrong with the halfords products if your just wanting it clean, if your wanting to take it further then take a look through the stickys at the top of the page and have a search through the older threads as there is a lot of info in there.

And not using a sponge is a start.

I use a sponge and I dont have any problems ?

i just my car as a daily but wanna keep it clean as i can and wondered what people use

Start with the wash media and get your technique right for a few weeks.

Maybe start with something easy to use and simple, like Auto Finesse Tripple.......Its a great paintwork cleaner, fills swirls and does add some protection.

Then look into buying a wax or sealant to sit over the super resin when your budget suits or funds become available....

Theres allsorts of things you could buy, visit cleanyourcar.co.uk and add a few things to the basket and post what suits your budget in here - people will tell you where to go from there.

Start with 2 buckets, a wool washmitt and some shampoo, also a drying towel. Maybe invest in a small wheel brush and some wheel cleaner & a spray bottle too.

Then look into an applicator pad, microfobre towel and some sort of paintwork cleanser or all in one product (Auto finesse tripple would be a great start), some tyre gel - Megs endurance - (with an applicator for that too).

Then consider buying a wax or sealant to prolong that protection.

Lol. Im just being a dick mate.

I love sponges, I go back to mitts sometimes and just cant use them, they dont feel right to me anymore.

Zymol sillicone free sponges are great.

Your shed sponge, or car plan 99p sponge just wont cut it.

Or actually, it will cut.....your paintwork to shreds.

A wash mitt is ideal for someone thats getting into it all as I find the sponge requires more care to look after both the sponge and your paint.
