Cleaning wheels

  Clio 197 R27 Albi
I clean my wheels with AG clean wheels spray and some soapy water which works fine. I've also got some chemical guys wheel slealant which I add after.

Next time I wash my wheels and use Ag clean wheels spray, will that remove the chemical guys wheel slealant or will it be ok.

Thanks

In a word, yes.

In several;

Most likely. AG Cleans Wheels is an acidic wheel cleaner. Which is fine first time around to get rid of all the crap on them. But once you've cleaned them up, cut them back with a polish, such as Super Resin Polish. Then protect with the CG Wheel Sealent, which is a very good product.

After this process, every wash should be as easy as warm soapy water with a wash mitt.

using AG clean wheels all the time will after a while dull the silver. Get some Bilberry wheel cleaner and you wont be disappointed.

You really don't need anything other than warm soapy water if you have protected them properly.

This guy speaks the truth. Acid cleaners are a big NO NO. Stay away from any wheel cleaners you find in halfrauds as they all damage your finish to the paint and you will get a milky effect.

Bilberry is amazing stuff and i have been using it for about the last year. Doing a big clean on my car tomorrow so will get some before and after pictures up.

Another fan of bilberry here, amazing stuff. It cleans better than all the acid cr@p you buy at halfords but is pretty safe.

This.

Prolonged use of Wheel Cleaners will ruin the wheels in the long term. As long as they're cleaned properly and protected properly they should only need a normal wash with soap and water.

TBH if you require something to shift grime, use AutoGlym Engine and Machine Cleaner (pink lable in large trigger spray bottle).

Ok Cheers for all the answers. Will Get them protected this weekend to save using the AG stuff all the time.

Would be great to see some pictures 'Gorms'.

Where do you buy Bilberry from?

Can get bilberyy from i4detailing but personally I would buy i4detailings own stuff as imo its just as good but much better VFM.

Most detailing websites.

But you don't need it. It is extra expenditure on something that isn't required, I promise. Once your wheels are properly protected you just need warm water, car shampoo and a wash mitt/wheel brush for the insides.

One the wheels get harder to clean, either top up with sealent or cut back again. I re sealed my wheels every couple of months.
