Clicking noise at full lock

Hey folks please help,

I got a clicking noise when my steering is at full lock,

Does anybody now what this is, i know my wheels are not rubbing on anything and i dont know what else it could be, pls help......

I bet you its the power steering pump, turn it on full lock with the engine running and have a mate listen under the engine if its not doing it then i would look at the cv joint.


But my moneys on the p/s pump

I had this on mine now and again for ages... had it in to a few garages who couldn't put a finger on what it was, so i just left it, anyway i changed my brake pads/disks because i forgot to change them (got the metal on metal effect :dead: ) and after that it stopped.... so god knows what it was lol...

mine's been doing this for abit now, i have a mate listen to it when it was on a lift but it didn't click (a four poster lift) but as soon as it got onto the ground it started up again! had the bonnet up and had a listen and he said it sounded like it was coming from down the back of the engine??

I had another mate who is co-driver in rallying, and knows alot about the mechanical side of cars, had a look and he put it on being either a track rod end or the steering joint on the steering rack.........

mine does this aswell.......my mate looked at it and sed it was a strain on the linkages or summit like that.........does that make sense

he sed not to worry about it but it only really does it wen im on full lock and going down a lil bump or reversing round a corner

Aye, it doesnt do the car any harm. I cant reach full lock anyhow as my tyres rub on my coils a little bit, lol.

Could do, seeing as theres uneven weight distribution between both sides of the car.
