Clifford Concept 600 problems

Anybody know of a decent Alarm specialist?

I have a clifford 600 installed on My MKII 172 but I have loads of problems with the locking and unlocking of the doors. If someone opens the car door while the engines running when I turn off the ignition and get out, I can actually arm the alarm and the doors arent locked????

This can also happen if after 30 seconds of disarming the alarm I havent started the engine and I have to press the key fob while the key is in the ignition. When I get out and arm it again the alarm is set but the doors arent locked. I have to keep getting back in the car and start pi**ing about with the electric door locking mechanism!!!!!

GAP security fitted the alarm but I am reluctant to go back to them as I am not impressed with their service

I think any Clifford deal would be able to help you - you might have to pay tho if you dont go back to Gap!

There is an option I think which arms the alarm but doesnt lock the doors.. have a look in the manual - I think its only with the auto-arming tho..

Thank god Im not alone!!! going to pm you as well but I have exactly the same problem with my concept 300. You have to deal with Gap Im afraid, got mine fitted where I was living in Hatfield, now over 200 miles away and the uk distributors of clifford wont allow other dealers to honour the warranty! Do you have the auto locking of the clio turned on? i.e. locks doors when you drive away?

this may be it? I need to turn mine off and try it,

I dont think its the fault of the alarm just a conflict with clios and the locking system.

Biggest pain in the arse in the world tho!!

Phone up GAP and get someone out to have a look at it.

Chances are they wont send the same bloke who fitted it!

Think the head engineer at GAP is called MARK, might be worth asking for him. I had them out about 4 or 5 times. the Guy that originally installed my 300 was subcontracted by GAP and f**ked it up totally. In the end they totally reinstalled it... works a treat now!!:)

Its all down to the installation - get a bad install, and youll hate Cliffords.. get a good one, and youll love them!

yeah but even if you go to one of the top 3 installers you still can have probs like me

my engine start works only sometimes

my passenger window dosent close all the time

and it goes off when ever it likes even if its in a garage

but hopefully it will be sorted out on saturday when i take it in.

My installation was top notch and I have utmost faithk, I have only had two issues, first was the bonnet sensor, the plastic standard one was sh*te so they replaced it with a decent metal one, and the ongoing problem as detailed above. If its happened on two different cars at least from two different places then I would not think it is down to the installation.

Anyone else had the locking problem? Even for all the problems, it makes it all completely worthwhile when you remote start it just as a couple of nice ladies are walking past!! (alternatively when old people are walking past always a good laugh too!!!)

Probably will have to speak to GAP and get them to have a look at it but i am not to keen as I said, i wasnt particularly impressed with the install.

Does anybody know what GAP stands for? Is it named after that area between their ears!!!!!
