Clifford vs Toad

  BMW e46 320 Ci Sport

Hiya guys...been quoted for the clifford concept 300 and toad ai606 model want to know what peopls experiences have been and what the general opinion is on both systems. Im getting a really good deal with the toad but clifford are a lot more well know (i think), please let me know guys.

P.s. it would also be cool to know which *beep beep* sounds best ! lol

Im not going to go into details but i own a TOAD Ai606 and its wicked. Not had one issue with at all. Ive not heard any bad stuff about Toad. I had a clifford C50 on my previous car and it was pig!! some people say its down to the way its installed. But if you ask me Clifford is slightly over rated. Go for TOAD m8, you will be thanking me later on.

i say different, i would go with clifford, if you get it installed correctly u wont have a problem, mine was installed and it was sh*t, i went to a diff place and they were like um they put it all in the wrong place and they sorted it for me, now it works fine, and the clifford has SO many features and loads of extras u can bolt on, go with clifford u wont be upset.

i have a conspet 300 and i have a friend with a toad, mine is MUCH louder than the toad, my m8 is gutted at the amount of things i can have that he cant :D

Yeah the features r a selling point but honestly, i think thats xactly it. Theyre a selling point rather than actually worthwhile, the only things i want r intellistart and smart windows (remote start and remote control of windows), theyre both offered with both companies. Imf finding the decision well hard cause stockists of both tell me to go 4 clifford but its blatantly due to the fact their more expensive, but then one toad stockist i spoke to couldnt have enough bad things to say about clifford!! Its crazy. Loudness could be an issue, either way thanks both of u for your help. Any more would appreciated from any1.

The thing you have to ask yourself is which fob is prettier! b****cks to the alarm does it look good on your keyring!

lol theyre both like identical...dont worry i have looked into this...theyre like carbon fibre styled...although u have to get 2 on ur keyring with clifford as opposed to one with toad, although apparently u can get more colours with clifford...

ive had both and i say Toad is easier to use, the clifford concept 300 that i have in my willy is a bit fiddly and a general pain in the bum! If you want it to do a basic job, go for the toad - but if you want the flashy add ons go for the clifford, i just feel that alarm installers push clifford as they can sell you more gear for it. therefore making it more expensive for you!

I had a Clifford Concept 50x on my 205...

It was ok, but a pain if anything needed to be done to the car...

The receiver board started to die on my Concept 300, left me stranded a couple of times:mad:

Ive just had it replaced, £80! Didnt check the small print about the guarantee (sp), its invalidated if you dont have the alarm serviced every year.

Also, the guy who fitted the new receiver board said that the battery holder on the fob is a bit crap & the solder can go on these (he re-soldered mine for free).

Apart from that no problems, but as the post above said, make sure it is fitted by a good company. I had problems with a Concept 50 on my old 5 Turbo & when I had it checked out for insurance purposes by a Clifford dealer, they said that it had been wired up incorrectly & that when a sensor was set off, it was isolating the whole system instead of the sensor that had been triggered. Also the boot & bonnet sensor hadnt even been wired up. Dont know who installed it in the 1st place as the alarm was on the car when I bought it!

me 1st post. :)

After having both a Ai606 and a Concept 600. I would say both are great, just make sure the alarm is installed by someone who knows what they are doing. Otherwise too many problems.

i have a clifford and i havent had any problems, i know atleast 10 other people with them and they are fine, people that have problems are cos the alarm was installed wrong, or they just cant use it propperly,
