Climate control problem, help needed!

Hi,

So the front of my climate control unit is scratched...So I decided to order a second had unit off ebay.

This is my current one:

Took it out and the part number on the back is 8200352852

Have just fitted the new one off ebay but it only blows hot air, even when the AC is turned on..

Had a look on the back and the part number is different. The number is 8200069371.

Presume I have ordered the wrong one, despite it looking totally identical??? If so, is that why it's only blowing hot air?

I also rang Renault to see how much a new climate control unit is, using the correct part number (8200352852) and its £450! We both had a chuckle on the phone... Is that right?

Can anyone help at all with this please?

Oh and below is the new (what I'm presuming to be the incorect) part fitted and looking a lot better... :(

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have a spare one if you need another? I'll check part numbers of course

The only blowing hot air could be down to the cog under the this motor all chewed up, worth checking.

If it is just put a cable tie round it or like i did a bit of tight pipe.
With the aircon control you could always try swapping the buttons and front cover onto your old one.

Easy job, no electrics to mess with. Just pop the front cover off, buttons will come out at same time iirc
Have a go on your old one first so you learn how best to take it off.

Where do I find this?

My heaters are packing up too!

@berilia
If you look down to the left of the clutch peddle.
If you do a search along the lines of only blowing hot air you will find a thread with loads of decent useful info.

Cool, I'll give it a go!
It was only throwing out hot air, well odd time cold would come out, but now the blowers have stopped altogether!

This has happened on a previous Clio and the problem just one day fixed itself.. But with winter coming, Ill have to sort it.

Thank you!

I had the same problem, would only blow hot no matter what setting i had it on and then christmas eve it stopped blowing altogether. I checked the resistor pack(think thats what its called) by linking the end connections on the plug, blowers then worked so changed the pack. Still only blowing hot so looked at that cog and found mine to be broke, fixed by slipping a tight bit of pipe over it to hold it together. All working as it should be now.

Yeah, I had replaced the resistor on my old one too, but it didn't fix the problem. Maybe both cars are due to the clog..
I will check mine out on my next day off :)

I replaced the heater resistor yesterday and my fans now work, but I only have hot air!
Isn't a problem right now but I'll need my cold air back at some point...
