Clio 02 Speaker Upgrade

  02 Clio Extreme
Hey all,

I've just spent the last hour reading through 25 pages of the ICE section..
unfortunatly all the information has confused me :(

Basically I have bought a new Pioneer HU.
Already got a sub and amp in the boot..

I want to upgrade the speakers in the car. Do I have components or coaxials in the front speakers? and what about the rear ones?

I am not fussed about upgrading the rear speakers, as most of you have said it is pointless. My car is a 2002 Clio Extreme.

Hope you can help me here!

Mines a 3 door..

I want to upgrade the front ones.. but are they components or coaxials? and how do you amp them? I am totally blonde when it comes to stuff like this guys.......

I know that in the sport models there is Components in the front 5.25 in (13cms) and coax of the same size in the back

You have the same 13cm speakers as in the sport.

Do you know how much you want to spend on the speakers?

If you really want to stick to JBL go for components rather than coaxials.

Here's a list from caraudiosecurity.

The top two are similar spec to the one that you linked to, apart from they have a higher RMS Wattage.

You're going to need a second amp. As the one that you have is a 2 channel - which will run the sub that you have.

You will need the second 2 channel amp for the component speakers. :)

  Works...kind of...

Indeed.

I asked what headunit you had so I could check that you had more than one pre-out (you do) and I asked about the amp to check if it was more than two channels (it doesn't).

  "Navy" N17 TWO
13cm Components and a second amp to run them if you can afford it.

Have the 2channel amp "bridged" so that both channels are combined to power your sub.

The standard rear speakers are fine, the HU will run them as normal for rear fill.
