Very good advice there Martin but the brakes at 239mm for the 1.2 8V and 259mm for the reast of the range any scrappies bound to have one in stock you need the caliperrs and the mounting brakcets new pads new brake lines and the bigger disks.Martin_89 said:next up is brakes, now on the MK2 im sure the 8v has 139mm brake disks and dont think there vented so you want a big brake conversion, possibly use 16v brakes (159mm vented disks), if your doing that i would just go for standard vented disks and uprated pads, this is what ive got (EBC green stuff pads) and it works pretty well.

Why save for a 1.6 though? A 172 is the only one I'd ever consider.
