ah right, i knew most would have had a pretty harsh life but thought generally they would be ok... good to know i was wrong, other alternative for my mate is a 106 Gti
A lot depends on condition fella...some owners will change/fix all those niggly problems and spend money getting things in good condition, while others will let them get worse and you can get some pretty hefty bills. Clutch and gearbox problems are not cheap at all.......there are some mint ones about though so dont dismiss the option. IMO though a 106 gti would be a better buy if you are after lower running costs it being a newer car, after all.
put it this way, if u really love the looks of the clio over the 106 get the clio. any other reason get the 106 cos itl be cheaper more reliable newer, probably handles awee bit better,
