Clio 16v Clutch

I tried out a 16v the other day, and liked it except for one thing. The clutch was really heavy. Ive heard that it is usually heavy, but it as heavy as the clutch on a TVR Cerbera.

Are all 16vs like this, or did I just happen to try one with a really heavy clutch?

Most are very heavy dude!!!

Until you get used to them! Mine doesnt feel so hard. But when I drive the Birds corsa for a while then feels like you need a brick to push it down matey!

OK. Do you forget about it after a while or is it something you have to put up with? I guess Ill just have to try a few more and see what theyre like!

Yes mate Just get used to it. It doesnt bother me at all!!

If weedy BenR dont have a problem hehe!!

Not a hinderence just getting used to it as you would any car!!

trust me there all heavy

you could get it a little lighter by changing the clutch cable,. worthwhile anyway as they eventually fail if it still on the first one,

in traffic its ab it of a killer if ya tired but you will have monster calves if u drive them for ages,

mine are massive cos of the clutch

LOL,

its true, they are all heavy on the 16V, nothing to worry about as it doesnt take long to get used to it. If you have been used to driving a car with a light clutch it can come as a shock when you step in. When i first bought my clio 16v i had to have a can of redbull before i could change gear.

Be man and get used to it, ;)

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

Thought it was only the phase 2 with a performance clutch?

Thought the phase 1 had a lighter 1 as OE and the phase 2s were heavier.

nope there all heavy! although when my clutch gave in it got menatly heavy and started to hurt if i got stuck in a bit of trafic for a while!

now got new grp N clutch and its back to normal (still heavy) and dont notice it!

The clutch pedal feels heavy and kicks back, but it means that you can get a really good standing start if your technique is right.
