Clio 16V - Non-standard & insurance

Where the best place to go for insurance if your car has been modified (chipped, performance parts etc)?

Thanks

Ive had a look at Liverpool Vic and on their online application form it states,

"We can not insure cars: which have performance enhancing modifications."

I think it has statement number 5.

Any others?

I am insured with liverpool victoria, with lowered suspension, exhaust, viper and pbv, leather. Put it up 53 over standard price.

yeah, im with them too, and ive asked them what mods i can do and they said that as long as i tell them, i can do what i like!!!

i had a corsa sri, and to transplant a corsa gsi engine into it was an extra £30 over the 12 months, but the only catch was that i had to transplant an engine that had come out of a production line corsa, so a 2.0 would have been a no-no!

Adrian Flux were the cheapest for me... you have to complete a form telling them your inside leg though! Saved £100 going to them.

Just while we are on the subject of insurance - When I got a Magnex CAT back system fitted to my car I phoned the insurance company (Direct Line) and they added a fair bit onto the premium. When I got the letter through the post it read "Fitting of Magnex s/s exhaust which will up the power by 10 to 15%" !!!! I wish! What a croc of turd, these guys havent a clue and are defo ripping us off. Lucky to get 2-3 BHP I reckon.
