Where can they be found forsale nowadays? Really doesnt seem to be that many about? I've checked here, wc, ebay and pistonheads.

Are they becoming rare? Ideally i'd be looking at a phase 2 on a N plate in either Monaco or Naples..

Also what would you be looking to pay for a fair condition valver?! They seem to range from anything like £800 to £3k!!

I just missed out on a naples with the head gasget gone for £500. Would have been alright as the standard engine's not really needed...

£800 will find you a valver in need of a little work but £3k would have to be an absolute minter 30K miles fsh. Look on 16valver,there are a few on pistonheads at the moment.

Well i sold both my old ones under 3k a few years back so i wouldnt expect to pay anything around that. Especially bearing in mind what my last one had done to it. They just seem very few and far between.

Whats the site you speak of to check?

I know where you are comming from I noticed this when I wanted a R5 GT Turbo, before I bought the clio. 6 months trying to find an MOT'd AND TAXed standard car. I tried everything, even put wanted adds out and just got scam replies offering to buy the car I didnt have???!!! dumb ass scammers.

I figure you'll have more luck with the valver club. In my case it seemed you had to join the R5GTT club to browse the car adds to buy a car so you had a reason to join the club. bizarre.

wouldn't bother spending £3k on a valver... you can get something newer, more reliable, quicker, better handling etc etc...

Neil i know i talk about it lots but i'm thinking a cheapy as i've got the landy too. 3k on a valver? Never!! 1.5k would be my limit. I'd honestly rather one over alot of cars in the price bracket tbh but they just dont seem to be about.

Here's the beast though -

Looking around mate there seems to be hardly any. Certainly not in any kind of good condition or unchaved

A tidy, phase 2 with a standard willy lump in would be lovely...lol!

Thing is with them is they do pop up time to time with low mileages, mint and been owned by a oldy. All for a decent price as they dont really know anything about them. I'm keeping my eyes peeled in the trade it.

I know someone who got a tax and ticketed Willy for £500!!!! I'm sure it was fluke though.

A girl a work bought a nice williams for herself because she liked the colour and gold wheels! Was very clean and then she sold it for £1200 because she wanted a "Red Car"

I'd steer clear of that - saw it at and around the World Series a few months back and it was getting a fair bit of abuse! Didn't sound too good either. Also if I recall correctly it has no service history or receipts whatsoever, a slipping clutch, has had a lot of problems and is overpriced for what it is anyway. I was looking at buying it when it was originally for sale and I think it had 2/3 previous owners then and was getting on for half the price.

But a decent valver ranges from about 700-2000 I'd say, and you can get lucky and get an absolute bargain sometimes. Best place to look is the 16v forum and pistonheads, just try to check things out if possible as there are a lot of dishonest sellers unfortunately.

yeh id steer clear of that... because its mine and it aint for sale anymore anyway! U did make me lmao 'Mike Ca', iv got a HPI check with 1 prev owner, the clutch is fine, got tonnes of reciepts albeit no history. Drives superb , and if i was giving it abuse then u must drive like a right old fart! Nuff said.

Tom - maybe see if Matbrown has any valvers in ?? I know he sometimes does.

Tbh though mate, decent ones were thin on the ground about five years ago, so i'd hate to think what they are like now :dapprove: Sure you still get minters, but they are few & far between :(

Keep an eye on Autotrader, it takes time but last Summer I found a few reasonable ones come up. I was too late for one on 30k that a family had used since day one (£1500) and there were a few more that came up from sellers that had clearly used it as a standard shopping car for years with reasonably low mileage.
