clio 172 cup gearbox help

does anyone know any companys or private that do recon gearboxs for clio 172 cups please.

not 100% sure, took it to rentech today, and he thinks its either the clutch or the gearbox, its making a strange noise, its coming from the gearbox area, as soon as you press the clutch it stops, but it only happens when your driving.

deffo not the right noise for a clutch release bearing, its fine when stationary

what sort of noise is it? be tempted to change oil and/or live with it if it's gear chatter/whine

It's realy hard to discribe the noise, it realy does sound like a tyre rubbing on an arch noise, I guess you could kool it chatter, I'm suppose to be driving to the nurburging end of the month, and would hate for it to fail whilst out there

my astra mk4 did this, that similar to a rubbing noise i had the front wheels off looking for omething rubbing, turned out to be mainshaft bearings goosed, lasted 6months before they collapsed

mainshaft in the box you mean?ive had the main driveshaft bearings checked and they seem fine.

i gave them a call very helpfull and a good price to, they just need my box off and me to send it to them, not sure its a job i can do? how hard is it?

This. ^ Main shaft bearing will stop when clutch is pressed too. Sounds almost like a wheel bearing (the noise). Refurb time
