clio 172 decat

Hi, on here most people think that a decat is one of the most important mods to make to your clio, is this true?

If so what is the easiest way to do it and how do you get the old MOT?

How many ponies will this give me and will it change fuel consumption?

2-3 bhp maybe.
No real change to consumption.
You generally have to swap it back to the normal cat come MOT time.

Some people have had the dash display light up when they put the decat on.

Ive had my decat on for aboout 3 months and all is fine.

Ive not noticed any real performance gains, think my ears explode from the noise so it takes my thoughts away from noticing gains lol

Only the 182 suffer from the light coming on the 172 can be fixed by just not connecting the second sensor.

have u ever had a decated system on a car before? cus there very loud! i had an OMP track exhuast on my valver and i've never had an exhaust as loud as that before, the only baffle was in the back box, it used to shoot fire too...very impressive...car revved a bit easier, but u only really notice the noise

Im fitting a k-tec decat on sat. Is it best not to put the second lambda sensor in then? and what do you do with it, totally disconnect it, as it will be danging about in engine bay wont it? also I have a standard exhaust system at the moment and will the decat make it alot louder? Do you get any popping crackling?
