Put £20.00 at £1 per litre and got 151miles out of it.

Can anyone work that out to MPG?

151 miles / 5.283 gallons
= 28.59 (mpg)

Umm I think - how did you get that figure above?!

* edit - there's a lesson learned: imperial gallons=4.399l, us gallons = 5.283l !!

There are 4.546 litres per imperial gallon, so 20 litres = 4.39 gallons.

Divide 151 by 4.39 = 34.3223

Assuming a 4 week month = 24 days x 56 miles = total monthly mileage of 1,344.

Averaging say 34 mpg, you'll use 39.5 gallons, which converts to 179 litres at £1 per litre...

Budget for about £200 a month and you should have it covered.

£20/0.95 = 20.85 litres

20.85/4.545 (litres in a gallon) = 4.58 Gallons

151/4.58 = 32.9 ;-)

how the b****cks are you getting that fuel efficiency?!?!?!?!?! i drove valver like a granny, literally not going above 3,000 rpm with a full tank of optimax and managed something shite like 29mpg.
Im just gonna floor it in 3rd from now on and turn the engine off when im at 90 and let it roll for the next couple of miles stupid f**king valver

Si - Its bummer knowing Ill be £200 down a month :-( but as you'll say we will need to sell more lappys, which actually should be possible as we are opening our first retail shop.

I'm about £260/month down on my season ticket so £200 would be good for me!!!

Did you do your practice run during rush hour? An economical run on clear roads is very different to stop-start commuter traffic....
