Clio 172 hitting rev limiter early?

  e34, 172, Radical
Hi,

Problem is the car hits the rev limiter earlier in the rev range than it should, sometimes it goes to 7k but other times earlier, had originally thought it was a fuel surge problem but no longer think this. Put it on some rollers today and the fueling is spot on (have also checked the plugs), any suggestions?

Appreciated,

Dunc.

You have a warm up limiter of 6800 and a hot map of 7200 standard on these.

the car needs to be 'properly' up to temp for the higher limiter. I.e. if your car has sat around for a bit and then gone on the rollers - probably still on the lower rpm limiter.

The car is designed to hve an earlier limiter when its not up to temperature.

Is it up to temperature? Usuall takes 30 mins of driving I'd guess.

If it is, it mabe a wanky temp sensor or something.

Hi thanks for the responses, the car is fully up to temp and it does it at various rev ranges between 4 and 7k.

Thanks,

Dunc.

that sounds more like a misfire then. Plugs, leads, coilpack, injectors.....all suspects
