Clio 172 Vs Fast offroaders 4x4s etc

Hi.
I like most people hate these Speed SUVs like the X5 etc, especially the way they drive on motorways...
But to humble these football players in there chelsea tractors, i find the best way is to give them a smoking with the little clio, because usually they can hardly see the car, whatabout tell its a bit of a sleeper with its tiny 15" wheels (they usually have 20" plus)
However not to embarass myself against these 300-500bhp tanks, which are actually slower than a clio on the motorway, as i know alot of these have a fair amount of wind resistance as ive been round a track in the new range rover.
Im talking cayennes normal and s the vw v12 diesel new nissan thats supposedly rapid. x5 4.2 4.6 etc, range rover sport., X3s? and anything else that thinks it owns the outside lane.
just thought id get this bugbear off my chest.

Fair do's.... but i can assure you my 182 would be owned by my dads 4.6 X5 on the motorway. Mine is quicker to 60 and maybe 100. But from 60mph onwards its a rocket. Wouldnt even bother with my clio. Ive driven it a few times on the motorway and it certainly has grunt.

And the V10 VW... doesnt that an insane amount of tourqe. Would prob distroy the V6 clio on the motorway.

There are some fast ones about.
The clio will not win against a bmw 4.6 or 4.4
Or the porche cayenne turbo.(thats the one with the 911 engine)

You do realise the Clio has an appalling drag coefficient of 0.35

yeah u do realise the V12 Diesel would destroy almost anything ? in the new Audi Q7 which weighs 2.5 tonnes the V12 diesel rockets it to 60 from 0 in 5 secs. with 750 lb/ft of torque i dnt know any other car with more ....

You may be interested to know that a porche cayenne laps round bedford quicker than a 182....Its in evo.The porsche is 1 tenth behind it on a wet track/v's the clio in the dry

The Dodge SRT-10 Ram beat it too in evo didnt it?
Thats gotta have some pretty major drag. Does have 8.3L V10 on its side though.

^^ yeah, apparently its quicker than a trophy round their track.

When i drove the X5, i swear it just felt like an adgile big saloon.... they are pretty underestimated in the handling department for all that they weight.

I can vouch for the above. I got considerably embarrassed on a national speed limit drag by an SRT-10. Stupid amounts of torque

a porsche cayenne turbo will beat any clio (V6 included) to 60, to 100 and beyond that as well. they are rapid. however you'll probably never get to see this for yourself as most are driven by women (with rich husbands) and they'll probably run out of fuel by the time they get into 4th gear

The BTCC Pace car (I think its called that) Is a Cayenne Turbo and that was only just slower than the touring cars round Brands... Incredible sight to see!
