Desperately trying to get my clio started, please help...
When I put the key in and turn to stage 1 and leave it for a few seconds, then turn to start, nothing happens.
When I put the key in and turn to full start position, engine turns but cuts out after a few seconds.
My mechanic is of the opinion that its an immobiliser problem and to get the body control unit checked out by a specialist, cost to inspect is £75 + VAT, cost to repair is £275 + VAT.
Battery is fine.
Key fob is fine, not damaged, opens/closes, arms/disarms no probs.
I have tried pressing the button on the key whilst turning in ignition, crackling sound for a few seconds, but still no start.
This happened after I hadnt started the car for about a week and a bit, never an issue previously.
Has anyone had this or similar problems and managed to fix it?
Any advice much appreciated.
