Clio 182 - active sub from standard head unit

Hi, I am trying to run an active sub from the standard head unit on a clio 182. I have read a previous thead with someone trying to amplify the standard head unit but it didn't explain exactly how to do it. Any ideas?

(Just in case anyone's wondering, I want to keep the head unit standard so that I can keep the use of the steering wheel control and also because it means my clio is less likely to be broken into!)

I've done it with a vibe black box amp.

You need an amplifier that will accept high level inputs, from the rear speakers.
