clio 182 alarm!

  Recaro'd 182
I have the standard alarm fitted to my clio 182, which is rubbish.
Every now and again when i lock the car from the key fob the car will beep 2 or 3 times.
I assume this means that one of the doors hasnt shut properly, i.e. the sensor isnt working correctly.

Is this a common thing to happen? and are there any quick fixes, or is a new alarm system the most common fix.

It's a common problem, the ECU still thinks the car is on. Only really thing to do is to wait longer before locking the car from what I remember.

trieds that and it seems to work, how much we talking to upgrade the system toa clifford alarm system?

Hmm happened to me about twice since I got my 182 in August.

Never knew it was because of that, but I always assumed one of the doors wasnt shut right.

I have a problem with the internal sensors on mine which should just be changing two wires across but as Renault are incompetent they can't seem to do this, thus I'll be getting a price for after market one tomorrow.

does anyone know what RS+15 is?

Solution: It can only be resolved at a Renault dealer. Ask the dealer to contact the 'Renault alarm help line' and quote reference
'RS+15'.

and has anyone had it fixed under warranty? and know what the fix is?

Cheers mate that was the guy that I was going to call from seeing that other people on here had already used him.

Its a code the Renault dealership/techies will know tell them how to fix it.

The fix is to mess about with the alarm.

Just rang renault dealer to get this sorted. I told him about the reference number and said

"You'll have to bring it in to have a look. He told me he needs to remove parts of the boot liner to check the alarm LED as it is part of the wiring loom, the alarm panel is in their"

It isnt in there is it? \Is he having a laugh?

From cobra by email:

Hi,
The fault code for the flashes, indicates that there is a fault with
the doors (door open), the fault will probably be, that the pin stitch
that gets pushed in when the bonnet is closed has snapped or is damaged.
If so a new one can be v.cheaply bought from halfords for example, and
swapped with the old one,
P.S
the wire to the switch should just unclip, If the switch isn't the
problem pls callPeter on 01932 732 320 for further help.
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
DAN

Will look at this to moz with my trusty multimeter!
