clio 182 conversion

ive put a clio 55 plate 182 sport engine in to a v reg 1.2 clio, ive got as far as going to start the key but the car wont fire, the fly by wire works and lights come on the dash saying stop butt thats all, does the key need a transponder in the car to turn off an immobiliser because the original 1.2 doesnt have 1 and i cant get it off the 182 car cos its been scrapped. is this the case or wont it fire cos of something else?

i guess its the immobiliser.

you need the chassis number off the scrapped car

got the key from the 182? does it turn?
in the middle of the clocks there is a red light, does it flash very fast or stay constant?

yeah ive got the 182 key ignition and the brain and the black o ring that goes around the egnition, 2 lights come on the dash one says STOP which is on permanent and im not sure what the other red light is but that stays on permanent aswel, what im confused about is that the fly by throttle works.

If the red imobiliser light stays red once you have switched it on then there is a fault with it. It happened to mine and a recent conversion i helped do a new UCH was needed. If you know somone with a clip ask them to plug it in to try and re-sync the key
