clio 182 cruise control

hi, my cruise control switch sometimes doesn't work when i press it,but when i pull the steering wheel cover back slightly it works, im assuming its either the cover is catching or there may be some s**t in it somewhere. Now i was going to remove the cover to have a quick look but i was wondering will i have any problems with the airbag .ie going off :S i tried looking through old post but couldn't see anything about taking it apart.. thanks alex

I assume you are referring to the steering wheel buttons and not the cc switch on the dash?

If you are going to take the airbag off disconnect the battery and leave it for 30mins to let any residual current dissipate - should be ok to remove then.
