Clio 182
changing my diff this weekend but unsure what size the bearing are! anyone know where i can get them or what the measurements are for them!
i can get the numbers (i think) but wanted to just be able to order them online? is this not possible? if you got them i may as well take it from yourselfThe main diff bearing is huge mate and about £60 from renault. I've got a couple knocking about if you want the numbers off them?
I've never seen them online separately mate, only part of a kit. The ones I have are used items mate that need to be thrown out, not new. Having said that though, I'm still yet to see a pair of diff bearings that have failed.i can get the numbers (i think) but wanted to just be able to order them online? is this not possible? if you got them i may as well take it from yourself
just found this company mate! they do every bearing separate and as a full kit take a lookI've never seen them online separately mate, only part of a kit. You know you'll need to check the preload as well if you change the bearings don't you?
Yeah I've seen them before mate. That's for the early twin taper bearing gearboxes. You need to know which box variant you have before you can order it.just found this company mate! they do every bearing separate and as a full kit take a look

Well just be prepared that it may howl then mate, as like I said they're a matched pair.just replacing diff mate nothing else but want to put new seals and and bearings in so its done properly
2 of the bearings in that kit are incorrect for your gearbox as you have a 130 box. Trust me, I know these boxes inside out.well iv got a 04 plate 182 ff so didnt think they made different gearboxs for 182s?
As you can tell I'm not a pro with this gearbox stuff 😂Meanwhile in LaLa land.
So it will be worth asking if they have bearings for that then. This is a minefield lolWell just be prepared that it may howl then mate, as like I said they're a matched pair.

The bloke with the green box is trying to help you!As you can tell I'm not a pro with this gearbox stuff 😂
Yeah worth an ask I suppose. You'll need a press to get one of the bearings out of the casing, and you'll have to weld the inner race to shrink it to get the other one out.So it will be worth asking if they have bearings for that then. This is a minefield lol
thats fine iv got a mechanic doing it all. do you know the part numbers for the bearings that are wrong in that kit or are they ones you dont have?Yeah worth an ask I suppose. I can get the renault part number for one of them as it's a combined bearing and seal, but the other one I could only get you the snr bearing number forthats fine iv got a mechanic doing it all. do you know the part numbers for the bearings that are wrong in that kit or are they ones you dont have?

Tag me in here tomorrow mate to jog my memory. I've got a brand new one of the bearings somewhere - it's a combined bearing and seal. They're £35+ vat from renault. Lolany help with those would be appreciated mate
You have a late box mate, so I'd say that's the kit you need. Send me a link if you want and I'll confirm 100%just seen two different kits online. there specified as either an early kit or late kit? is this what im looking for? and just check a gearbox i had laying in the garage and it is a jc5130...

Flol!! Utter b****cks mate!!! You can buy a pack of different sized shims. I know because I've got them all!!I spoke to the company and they confirmed their the right ones mate. So that's sorted!
The preload shims are a different story! Spoke to some specialists today but they all say you can't just buy shims you have to
measure everything before getting some... so that will have to wait till I take it apart.
Even spoke to renault and they didn't know what I was on about lol...
Ok lol where did you get all the different shims I must know?!?Flol!! Utter b****cks mate!!! You can buy a pack of different sized shims. I know because I've got them all!!
So called specialist/s is/are wrong. Renault being clueless also doesn't surprise me tbh. My man at renault is the b****cks. He's been trained well.
Renault mate!! Lol! The mainshaft shim kit is about £100 thoughOk lol where did you get all the different shims I must know?!?

If it has any kind of uprated gearbox or engine mounts then the whine will be amplified.Thread bump on this, as was searching for issues with whining noise coming from the gearbox. I had my box built 2-3years ago with a Quaife plus all new ;synchros and bearings as per the PMS rebuild they sell. Its always had a fairly loud whine on deceleration with it. Is that a common occurrence with the Quaife?
Yeah I’m running PMS solid drivers mount , power flex purple dog bone, and vibratechnic solid gearbox mount. If it has any kind of uprated gearbox or engine mounts then the whine will be amplified.
If your handy with the spanners then i would change back to the originals just to confirm all is normal.Yeah I’m running PMS solid drivers mount , power flex purple dog bone, and vibratechnic solid gearbox mount.
Thanks I might try that as well as switch to a stock shift from the PMS shifter as that must be contribute as well ?If your handy with the spanners then i would change back to the originals just to confirm all is normal.

Not sure about that i use the standard but heard the pms produce noise even with the added weight.PMS shifter as that must be contribute as well ?

Renault in Australia have not got any, Pure say they are out of stock and i have 3 different part numbers and are unsure of which one , if any are correct so as i can chase all these unknown turkish sites Part numbers i have are 8200148716 but it comes up as also suitable for a Kango van, 7700679967- think its the actual fork selector i need but comes up no where and 7700743722- no idea what it is.
