Hey guys new to the forum. I'm irish and looking to buy a 182 as a daily. Will be my first clio. Here's one for sale on done deal. It's the only irish registered car for sale at the moment as far as I know. There's also two sale up north but import fees mean it doesn't make much sense.
What do ye think of this clio, am I mad to buy a clio 182 for €8000.
Cars are always more expensive in Ireland.

Cheers!

Wouldn't it be cheaper buying one from the mainland UK and exporting it over?
With Brexit theres an extra 10% charge with importing vehicles from the uk. This is on top of the usual import fees which would be about €1500. Then you've to pay tax which is €710 in Ireland and get a vehicle check for €80. Nevermind the hastle of importing a vehicle from the UK during coronavirus.

You don't need to pay the extra 10% when importing from northern ireland so it makes a bit more sense.

This clio isn't out of my budget but doesn't necessarily mean it's worth it...

Fair enough bud.

They are increasing in value now, especially standard ones that haven't been modified and have been well looked after.

Some of the tidier examples are going for 6k now if not more, especially for the more desirable colours.

Yeah think I'll leave it a while anyway. Can't see it being bought anytime soon. Hopefully something else comes to market!

The last time I sold a 182 it went to Ireland, Lad flew to Edinburgh airport, I picked him up, had a look round the car, all good, he drove to the ferry and away it went, probably the easiest sale I've had tbh! I know things are different with what's going on in the world etc but that's probably a £3k car ish in the UK so that's probably what €3500? That would be my route!

Yeah I think I'm just eager to get one during covid because there's not much else going on in my life. Maybe I'll just have to wait till this all passes and going to the uk for a car is socially acceptable...
