Clio 182 NGK-R PFR6E 10 spark plugs wrong?



Hi there I had the above spark plugs in my car for a while. The engine warning light came on and I took the car to Renault near me. Now they said the co2 was measuring 6 and it should 0.2 or something. They cleaned the lambda sensor and replaced the above spark plugs with Renault ones. Cost me £210.... Now I thought the above plugs were the same as the Renault ones but cheaper, renault said they were for a 1.6. Also I dropped the car in monday but they said they were too busy to look at the car until Thursday. However on the Tuesday someone drove the car a hood few
Miles and left a parking ticket they paid for in the next London borough in the window. I am not happy about this. Anyone able to offer advice/ guidance. Also I didn't write te mileage down but it averaged 13mpg while they had it!

sounds well dodgy, NGK PFR6E-10 are the correct plugs for the 172/182, did you get the old ones back?

from renault they are £15each plus vat!!!

If there the correct plugs in the first place question why they have been changed or find out what plugs they have put in and as for the person driving question that also they will prob fob you off saying test drive but then question the parking ticket
 
I thought they were the correct plugs as I checked on here first. I got the plugs back, they were in the car. Not sure what's in there now, a little worrying. Not happy about them driving my car round but I can't prove anything I suppose. I will be posting in the trader area on this site too. I was charged £67.52 plus vat for spark plugs :-( they also said I have non Renault HT leads with no heat shield which could arc or something?!

Your parking ticket proves it. Surely a test drive doesn't include leaving it unattended and illegally parked?
 
Sorry it's not a ticket like that, it's one you pay for and stick in the window. Got tomorrow off so popping down there. Will update then

I think you've been given a fair bit of bullshit tbh, none of what they've told you or done sounds even remotely accurate. name and shame, and report the dealer to RUK
 
Inc vat the plugs were nearly £85 bucks! What wrong with cleaning the lambda sensor, is this not possible or useful?! It's hard to pull then up on stuff I don't know about :-(

13mpg!!!!!! jesus unless u got some serious power under the bonnet worst i have ever had is 17mpg around town and i had been giving it a good clearout!!!

so rite first of all they have kicked the crap outa ya car whilst driving it around then parked it up to do some shopping!!! iam a mechanic and i would get my nuts blown off for something like that!!! if they have used your car for personal use that in my eyes would be classed as theft of your car...you left it for a emissions fault not for a weekly shop ffs!!!! :dapprove::mad:
 
Reading the slip the CO emissions were 0.6 and after they cleaned it and reprogrammed it they are now zero. Also says "lamda still very slightly high" not sure what that means, I thought that was CO related was it says that's 0. Confused!! So not sure if the lambda is broken or not?!? They expensive to replace? Also it struggles to start first time.

Going to speak to them tomorrow, should give them a chance to explain before shaming them :)

go in guns blazing mate if there owt like the renault dealer i brought my 182 from they are absolute tw@s...they told me it had been fully serviced etc ( wich i said i didnt want doing as i would do it myself they refused as it would need to be done before i brought it) it the proceeded to break down 3 days after i had it with a massive missfire ( on a sunday so service not open) limped it to work on 3 cylinders then proceeded to remove the inlet manifold and low and behold original spark plugs all crusted up on number 3 after finding this i checked everything!!! pollen filter was black and pi55 wet through air filter was also black and oil was low! the new brake pads they had put in was incorrectly fitted on the rear ! i changed everything inc another oil and filter put it all bar the oil filter in a bag and went down to the dealer on the monday and got fobbed off being told person i needed to see wasnt in. this happened for every day for 2 weeks !!! on the last day i went in all guns blazing as they was all stood around talking in a group i walked into the middle ( very red faced at this point ) and said " were the f**k's this f**king service manager as iam a littled pi55ed off with this now i have been coming here every f**king day for the past 2 weeks to be fobbed off by u f**king lot if he aint here again get him here now! as i aint leaving till i have seen them!" i ended up getting a refund on my items and the suposed service and two of my wheels refurbed as the paint decided to start flaking off!!!
