Clio 182 remap question

  Clio 182 FF
Hi, I have a clio 182 and as it seems all do, it runs lumpy on idle and also is hesitant on cold start. As I've read this seems to be normal. My question is though has anyone used K-tec to remap their car to help/fix this? (I know it's normal but it is quite annoying) If so what are your opinions on them? I'm considering a remap. Car is standard at the moment but am putting an induction kit on in the next few days.

I'm considering putting an exhaust on but that's really all I want to do. Is there any way I can gain a little more power out of it?

Exhaust, induction kit or phase 1 airbox etc, matched inlets, de-cat, re-maps. It's all well covered on the forum and everyone has a different opinion. I'd have a good search around before you shell out as it's a fair amount of cash unless you can find the bits secondhand and fit them yourself for not a lot in return.

Losing a couple of stone, running a quarter tank, taking the rear seats out and anything else easily removed will usually see the same power to weight ratio as the above mods and is free. Not a lot of use on a daily though!

Having cam timing not quite spot on is quite common and costs performance.

Being in Yeovil, it's probably a better idea to go and see Dan@SJM if you fancy getting a remap and/or something RenaultSport Clio related. You've got a specialist right on your doorstep.

I would focus on improving on the cars already strong points which are braking and cornering. Polybush the front end, ensure good tyres are fitted, fit adequate suspension based on the cars application, Rstuner remap is a no brainer IMO

Don't go chasing peak bhp figures as you will be disappointed.

Thanks for the advise.
Sharky- Where is SJM?
Monkey- I'm not looking for massive increases so will look into getting rstuner

rstuner would be my choice ive ran it on my 3 172s and my 182 along with one of my twingos!

raised idle to sort the lumpy idle
VVT enabled from startup to smooth it out when cold
more mid range torque gets rid of the 4000-5000rpm flat spot
