Not sure what's going on here. I haven't used the car for a few weeks after the alternator failed.
done the alternator today but the car won't start - it turns over fine but even with a bit of carb cleaner there wasn't even a hint of it starting. I tried a spark plug light directly between the coil and ht lead but unless there's some kind of diode in it (used it back to front) - there doesn't appear to be any spark.
i can't see anything I've knocked around the alternator - the only other thing I can think of is I pulled/trapped a wire whilst jacking the engine up.
Immobiliser light is on solid whilst starting - I'm not sure if this is relevant.
