Is part of the PDI a short drive? I've often wondered if for safety reasons you have to cain the b****cks of them just to make sure it's all ok hehe.

thats comforting you muppet as we speak i'm looking for renault dealers in the wiltshire trowbridge areas and sending this remark to all sales managers in the hope that they figure out who you are and repremand you appropriatly.
and even if it was a joke which i doubt it's not even funny, especialy when your about to fork out the best park of 14 grand on a new motor.

lol i was joking every1 if we were seen to be spanking them our job would be on the line, i treat every new car as if were my own, especially the sport range, i take pride in my work, i wouldnt want some looney ragging my brand new motor about!

I went to look at a 172 ages ago at Platinum, and the salesman told me it was in mint condition and completely standard. I turned up, and some fat bint was sat in it, it had some crappy 17's on, lexarse lights, and I think a back box, with a few dents.

The salesman came up to me and said, I'm terribly sorry I think this young lady is going to have it. I replied jokingly with "that's fine, I wouldn't be seen dead in it, looks as though it's been crashed through a Halfords window".

The girl gave me such a dirty look, and the salesman burst out laughing. Ah, the good old days.

Anyway back on topic, that 197 looks pretty nice actually, but combo I've seen I think. Much prefer that than white with black wheels.

too late to back track thread sent to RUK you can try and dig yourself out of the hole you made. Perhaps you'll think twice before joking /bragging on a public forum.

:rasp: i know ony pulling his chain was wondering what kind of reaction i was gonna get FPML no intention of sending the link to RUK (like they'd listen anyway).
god forgive a joke on a publc forum i thought you guys were quicker than that, sorry that's my warped sense of humour, note to self in future no more baiting:quiet: :D

Hehe, funny thread.

Locals will have surely seen enough new RS' on the roads here to know the truth anyway, I followed the V6 they had on the forecourt for 6 months early one Sunday morning, I wanted it badly until I saw it being 'driven' (in a 30 zone, as well!)

...and don't even get me started on the customer service. There was a reason I did a 170 mile roundtrip to Exmouth when my car needed work. I know some of the guys in the workshop are spot on but it's dealing with the desk that's the annoyance!

As if it even matters heh. Anyone ever watched brand new cars been loaded onto ships at the docks? Ok, so it's not good for them spanking them from cold (although with modern oils it's not really that bad either) - but if I had a brand new 197 as soon as the engine was warm it'd be gettin it to the limiter - otherwise I'd end up with a slow one :) The only concerns would be letting the brakes and tyres bed in.
