Clio 2 remote central locking

Im sure someone will have been here before!

Got a MK2 PH1 1.2 16v, remote central locking has never worked, both red lights on the keys work fine when pressed, new battery's fitted. Car locks and unlocks fine with the button inside the car and the RAID system.

Where is the receiver situated? I'm not sure I've ever come across it in my time!

No idea how it receives the code, following

Get can clip on it and see what the key is doing, might be de immobilised ecu.

maybe this is finally the problem to force me to buy a clip clone, I've always got by without!

The car wont start if I remove the chip from the key and try and start it (I was curious at de immobilised ecu!)

Receiver on the early phase 1’s (it was IR, not RF) was in the plastic bit with the interior light etc. might still be in there?

That could make sense as it had a badly leaking sunroof filling the interior light with water, will have a look cheers
