Clio 2002 electric window problem

  clio
Hi everyone,

I joined the forum to see if any of you kind souls could help me out with my dilemma.

I have a 2002 1.2 Clio and when I bought the car last week, the driver side window didn't work but the passenger side did.

I took the motor and regulator out and it seems as though it is trying to move as it does move slightly either way when pressing the switch. I connected it up directly to the battery and it moved either way fine.

My thoughts were that it may be a broken/bad connection whether that be live or earth.

I really am at my wits end with it as it can't be the motor and it surely isn't the switch as it is moving (if only slightly) when pressed. It's like it isn't getting enough power through to is as when it has a direct feed it moved no problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Tommy

First thing I'd try is a different switch if it'd working fine connected straight to the battery then the motor etc is obviously fine, I'd lube up all the runners/sliders etc and then try a different switch and see if that works.

hi, thanks for your reply.

I've tried a different switch on it, I've also opened the switch and turned it round so the actual switch part would be using the passenger side (as this was working) but had no luck. It's all lubed up great and it work no problem with a direct feed.

Having a complete nightmare lol!

All the connectors firmly in place in the door? Don't they unplug in the door hinge area so you can remove the door? Check these are plugged in correctly.
