Clio 3 RS200 Exhaust/Flexi's/Mounts questions - New owner

Hi All,

Proud owner of a Silverstone GP. Well, I was, until the exhaust started blowing

Noise coming from front bottom of car, and as the exhaust manifold doesn't look too old (and I can see top part of one flexi looks very very frayed), I'm guessing that I have a choice of either new Flexi's welded in or full new system from manifold down to remove flexi's. I'm realising this is a ball ache and, without a lift, I have no chance but to get someone to do this.

Apart from K-Tec solutions what else do people suggest? How many hours labour is normal to be billed to remove/replace? Any suggestions on places who've done this a lot?

I'd rather a) do it as cheaply as possible but otherwise it's b) full system. I can't see the point in having to pay the labour on this more than once when this clearly happens a lot.

Also, the engine mount (top) clearly needs doing and I'm guessing it's a good idea to do whatever mounts are on the gearbox at same time as exhaust. Anyone have oem part numbers? What aftermarket suggestions ppl have? Powerflex or?

Thanks in advance all for any help, love the car so much but this is definitely a £££ set back. Still, just learning about it to be honest and trying to keep it in as good a condition as possible.

Replacing the manifold isn't an easy job. If you don't want to spend big bucks on it go to an exhaust place and ask about new flexis fitting. If you're in it for the long haul and are willing to splash the cash get a pure motorsport manifold fitted.

Thanks Pal for the reply. Yep, she's a keeper. Always wanted one and it easily keeps up with my mate's GR Yaris's, Abarth 695's etc on the B-Roads I like to do stuff myself but no chance without a lift. Already done brake discs/pads.

I'm guessing that the whole manifold still needs to come out to do flexi's? Or can it be done in situ if the sub-frame etc is removed? If you know of course.

Yes I presume the manifold will need removing to replace the flexis.
