Clio automatic, opinions please

My mate passed his test but only automatic - been looking for first car for him thats cheap and gets him rolling:

but as a right of passage of a first car to someone who's just passed his automatic test looking to get mobile is it suitable?

Get a Yaris auto. Cheap and last longer than time itself. Normally.

They command more money but they are decent and reliable. Upto a 1000 would get you a decent enough first car.
