Clio away to parks leaky bolt syndrome

  200 cup n transit
So on Sunday I popped the hood to fill washer jets and realised that there has been a slight leak from/around the rocket cover bolts so took it down to parks last night told them what was wron, booked it in for today and that I had a mate who's had the Same problem and he had to get new gaskets ;) lol its now been booked in for another day. Still awaiting a progress report from them fingers crossed they don't just pan me off with some cheap fix lol :dead: As a parrot

If its from around the bolts it won't need a new gasket (sealant actually). You may have fed them a reason to charge you a load of labour for removing the cam cover when it just needs a "cheap fix" as you put it (I would just wipe it clean, take it for a drive and find which bolt is weeping oil then whip it out and re-torque it with some sealant under the head) ;)

Sorry - I was assuming a RS clio 2. i don't know the 197/200 engine well enough

^same same (without going into detail)

they need to sack Francois and Pascal in the factory, those pair are crap at sealing these engines (and have been for the past 12years!)

Yeah as said it will just be re-sealed then refitted. I had a simular thing happen to the bolt head on the far left. i was told the head would only be removed if the problem was to come back or they could not gain access to the bolt.

So cheap fix it is :)

Dont have a go at them there keeping oil manurfactures in business and you plus others in business fixing the leaks plus dealers.

They should be praised.
