Clio Cold

I was wondering if anyone would know if when a Clio 172 Sport (02) is cold and you try and put your foot down it doesnt like it? or gives a flat spot?

Can anyone shed any light on this please as im tempted to take it back to the garage and ask them to check it.....

When its cold and i try and put my foot down (Dont do it all the time!) it seems to hold back a tad... Are they supposed to do this as a protection against the engine or is mine Cattled!???

Any help, advice would be most appreciated...

Completely normal, and necessary to meet the latest Euro emissions regs, which limit permitted emissions even when the cat is cold.

Yeah, when the car is cold, you wont notice the car coming on cam at 4500rpm or the nice surge at 5500rpm

Thanks Guys,

Was starting to get a little bothered about it... never really noticed it before until these bloody freezing cold mornings... Would hate to think there was anything wrong with my little precious toy!

the temp gauge in the middle means nothing. Its only the water temp. You will need a lot longer (5-10km) for the engine and gearbox to warm up properly

Dont get me wrong guys.. i dont hoof it cold cause i know it damages it... i just noticed it when ive had to a couple of times to overtake some old lady or something! i usually dont hoof it at all to be quite honest, unless im in the mood! It likes to guzzle fuel....
