thats one long sentence mate!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, the slips roads round our way can be very trecherous especially when wet, Oil just makes things a whole lot worse!

gutted mate! i hit motorway reservation backwards at 90mph then sup 360 and hit concrete wall other side and they were gonna fix that! so i think they might sort ures!

It may be worth you getting some advice on where you stand with regards to claiming off the Highways Agency. It is their responsiblitity to make sure the roads are, well road worthy, if you know what I mean.

Its the same situation as people suing the local councils for pot hole damage.

It would take a while no doubt but if you do win you will redeem any no claims and save yourself on future insurance bills once sorted.

the motorway i was on was coverd in surface water and thats wot caused my car to loose control! (police and every one was told the car was goin 60mph, even the cops sed that i was cus i was on camera, even tho i was doin 90) and the highway agency sed it was just one of them things!

Surface water on a motorway could be considered a natural occurance, oil isnt.

They would never admit anything and you have to fight a bloody battle, but if you do progress with it alot of poeple have been known to win.

Im only suggesting it because it may be an expensive right off

Just a thought

My 1.2 Clio was written off from just hitting the kerb. Looking at the car from the outside all that you could notice was that the suspension on the passenger side was gone. So when I was told it was a write off I couldnt belive it, Upon further inspection of the car it was clear that the impact was so much so that energy rippled through the car. To fix the car this is what was required:

o/s Front and Rear Suspension
Front and Rear Subframes
Airbag And Seatbelt System
o/s/f Wing And o/s Sill Trim
3 Wheels And Tyres
and a Body Shell (I had twisted mine)

This brought the total work to: £7000 making it beyond economical repair

It may have sounded like ive gone off topic, but the point im making is that there could be alot more damage than first thought of.

If you bend the body shell beyond what can just be bent out the car will be written of a replacement body shell is about £1.5k but fitting all the bits back to it takes ages so the price become stupid.

Any chance of any pictures of the damage? I did the same sort of damage to mine when it was 8 months old and it was very close to a write off and I didnt need the door or back pannel fixing.

Then again mine wasnt drivable as the wheels were at 45 degrees.

I dont think you have a chance with the highways authority though.

Sorry to hear about you crashing your car least you and everyone else is ok.

As to how much damage you need to the car before they write it of well it can depend on the insuracne company extimate at your car value and what there policy is. Some say as long as the damage to repair is less than 50% of the value of the car before the accident then they will fit it others say more.

Yeah my old car got written off.

I hit a wall and f**ked all my front alloy up and all the underside.

IF it had been bodywork all i would have needed was 2 new lights and the bumper needed some paint. Plus the bonnet would have needed to be straightend out.

It was a b*****d but ive got a better car now and am a lot safer now!
