Clio Cup Chirping Noise!! Help!

[Frasers Cup]

Ive noticed a noise from the front of my clio cup 172 since i got it but its getting slightly worse. It makes a "chirp chirp" sound, either when the steering is turned or when going over a small bump. Can anyone help and should I take it back to the dealership?

Ive read something in the evo mags past cup and they said they had the same sort of noise and it turned out to be something wrong with the steering rack. I thought it mite be the spoiler but it isnt. How long has urs been doing it chris and has it got worse?

I thought it was the top of the springs twisting round on the front struts??

my 172 does it too.....Im sure I read somewhere its because of the design of the top of the strut where the spring sits.

So theres no need to return it to the dealership then? Appart from that the car is amazing and im past its run in period so other cars better watch out at the lights!!

You could ring reno anyway to see if its a known problem as they may have a fix for it.

Its a know problem.

Its the top nut cup rubbing on the strut tower.

The cure is to grind off a section of the strut tower and its done under warrenty.

mine did it all the time. now fixed by the above mod.
