Clio Dci 1.5 65bhp Chip

from the looks of that. It's tricking the ECU into supplying the rail with more fuel pressure. This will probably result in more fuel being delivered.
It's an interesting idea, as diesels work by using a constant amount of air and varying the fuel. If you push in more fuel than the manufacturer originally specified your going to see black smoke (at full throttle) and a little bit more power. 65-82? Probably not. but maybe a small increase.
Do diesels run a catalytic converter? Im not sure, but if they do, then it wouldnt last too long with that thing on your car.
Save up more and get a proper remap, don't trust generic ebay boxes that trick sensors.

Edit: also I wouldn't be surpised if it made the car idle too high as it'll just deliver a bit more fuel all the time. Also diesels do have cats, and the extra soot this causes isnt going to do it any favours.

They do similar systems for the vauxhalls too, seem to give pretty good results, but not as good as a reflash. I'm sorry i dont know a great deal about them though.

oki doki, iv heard they produce better results than a remap. but i might give one ago, and if its not very good on deisel after ill send it back lol

thanks people

A plugin box will NEVER give better results than a map. A plugin box bends the signal going to the ecu basically. A remap will customise the software the car is running on and done correctly will make a massive difference.

I had a box on my Clio 65 and gave roughly 80bhp. I bought the box of specialist who fitted it and cost around £300. I'v now sold my car and am going to be selling the box soon.

Forgot to say it was Star Performance that recommened the fuel enhancement module, not a remap for my car as it wouldn't get much of a result. The more Bhp u have to start with the better the gain u will get.

As diesel don't legally need to have a cat, you would be better of de-catting if you want quick results on a budget. Long-term you should be getting in touch with tuning companies about a specialist map to get the optimum from your car.

Just to avoid any confusion- diesels can have the cat removed but the car must pass an excessive smoke test. A mate has a tuned PD150 running about 235 and this can pass smoke tests so don't fret about a 1.5 failing!
