Clio DCI injectors...looking after them.

I see a few posts about the DCI injectors going and being very expensive to replace. I have a few questions :-

People say get the car serviced more regularly like every 9000 fair enough.

They say use a quality fuel. Does this mean just don't use supermarket stuff or is there one manufacturer that makes particularly good diesel?

Is there any additive that can be added to the fuel from time to time to keep the injectors clean?

Cheers D

AFAIK the best diesel out there is BP Ultimate Diesel.
My mate has a Pug 306 HDi, and his injectors are knackered - I think he said they were in the region of £200 for a new one, or £120-150 for a re-con one, so I'd image the DCi injectors would not be far off that price.

Servicing of the engine has no effect on the injectors unlike the VAG engines do.
Definatly chnage the oil evert 9k though makes a difference.

I try to always use BP or whatever super stuff is for sale and don't go to Tesco etc (I know its the same fuel but thats just me). Forget aditives don't stick them in the Clio dci engine it won't like them and wll do more harm.

The injectors life is difficult to know there a load of Clio vans on over 120k wth normal servicing but theres a load of them at about 60~80k which fail and leak. There not mcuh you can do VAG RDI's suffer the same problem some of them fail.

best thing you can do IMO is to get the rpm up to the top end even now and again. I've hammered mine for 68k without issues.
Dci injectors you cannot realy rebuilt new ones are £200 or so and you need Renault to install and program the ECU with there codes (each injector has a unique code to it telling the ECU its spray patern etc) So if you blow engine engine a second hand one or a 172 etc conversion is often a better idea.
