clio dci

where is all this information coming from about dcis giving trouble with injectors turbos etc after 50k. noone seems to be speaking from experience or is it evidence from the trade.

would be interesting to know as my 1 year old dci 100 bhp is going to be kept long term and run till at least 100k hopefully.

if this info is correct may have to review this decision

As long as you let the car idle briefly before and after your journey (oil to turbo) and dont give it welly until youve warmed it up, Id say youd be fine in terms of turbo and engine longevity.

Cant comment authoritatively on injectors, but I hear decent quality fuel helps and the odd Redex treatment must help.

It sounds like you do big miles if youre aiming for 100k - and long journeys rather than short ones tend to be very gentle to a car.

Just run the car on some decient fule not the cheapest stuff from some back street garage.

Alos when warm ever now and again floor it and run the engine up near the limiter to clean out any dirt in the system.

The problem would seem to be down to cheap fuel causing problems.

Changing the fuel filter more often is advantagious as well.

Thanks for that edde all those that mentioned the problems seem to have gone quiet. i wish people would back up their comments with relevant evidence.

By the way where is the fuel filter someone said its in the tank!

And is it easy to change?

The fuel filters under the bonnet on the passengers side by the radiator.

Pm me your email address and Ill send you the files on the dci engine where bits are and how to change them.
Not many DCi onwers on the site so most problmes are from Renault techs and the dci is a good engine, if it fails ithough it can be expensive but failures are rare.

  2015 Audi S3 Stage 3

since my wee hiccup with my engine from now on im changing the oil, filter and some engine treatment and redex every 6-7kmiles
