Well what a great day.

Had the oil filter changed last night at my mates garage, job done.

So, drove around fine last night, drove to college today (motorway too), no messing around with crap driving etc. Car was great, got to college, fine. Parked up and left the car for the day, returned to the car around 3.30pm.

Drove around 1 mile, then this massive billow of smoke from the engine bay.
SHIZZLE.
Parked over, lifted bonnet and saw this 15m line of oil from the car. CRAP, CRAP CRAP CRAP.

Pushed car over to the side of the road, and phoned my good old father. He picked me up and towed me to my friends garage.

Discovered i had been sold the wrong oil filter and it was pishing out the seal. So had to go get a new one fast.

Got the new one, fitted it, filler Clio up and yay. Starts, no big ends rattling either, most likely because i stopped so quick.

Driving the car around now and it STINKS, raw oil, even after going to the pressure washer and cleaning the whole engine bay and underneath the car.

Phew. :approve:

Theres my story over.

My pants were brown too, as ive already had to change the engine once due to the big ends failing.

Not naming and shaming, i bought the filter, from a CAR PARTS STORE. The company gave me a MARK II filter, instead of the MARK I filter, because my car is a 1998, they fecked it up.

surely when whoever was fitting it was fitting it relised "hmmmm this doesnt fit properly, must be the wrong part" instead of bodging it on

nightmare chief.

least you got it sorted, your not having much joy are you?
Not really, Clio is pish to be fair, but its a good run around for me.

Running the car today, already went to Kilmarnock and back, seems ok. Will pressure wash the engine bay again to try get more oil off.

Going to keep checking if any oil is leaking too.

Bloody hell, lucky one Adam. Half way down reading that I thought it was party over for the asstemp-mobile!

Burnt oil does stink, but it'll evaporate in a day or two.

Party was nearly over, nearly over really badly. Could have been worse however if i didnt stop.

Still smells today pretty badly. Maybe ill have trouble free motoring the rest of the year.
