Clio Dynamique 04, Lights issue...

  Clio MK3 1.6 Dynamique
Hi there, I bought a set of Philips bulbs from Powerbulbs.co.uk in march, Ive had this problem all this time.. but Ive just been to lazy to try get some help or advice on it, the problem is this... The set I got seems far to bright, I sometimes have people flashing me & certainly when im up peoples arse's(not that often!!!!!!!!!), I see them moving there head to stop the reflection from my lights in they're mirror(s), The dimm thing you got just below/right side of the wheel is set to 4(which is meant to tilt the light downwards at the road i think) 1 being no tilt... and 4 being the most.

I have taken a picture with my phone when I was parked & the wall in front shows the light brightness(there is also some issue with the left light being higher up.. not sure if this is normall or not?)

http://www.jony.co.uk/d600_101.jpg

im also pretty sure that the dimm thingie was set to 4 while i took this too... so it would be alittle higher up the wall than it shows in this pic

I did fit the bulbs myself(with no experience), which Im thinking could be the reason the left bulb allignment's out(higher up)... But I doubt it would be the cause of the brightness.

Can anyone give me some advice on this matter please, its doing my nutt in! If there's any questions.. please ask me.

Thanks :D

Really woudn't worry about it you ahve fitted brighter buklbs hence them being brighter, if folks falsh you just flash back......as long as it passes an MOT oyu'll be fine, if you are worried take it to an mot place and just get them to check/set the alignment

ive got phillips bluevision side lights and love the bright white glow they give and was actually thinking about getting some headlight bulbs for mine too, but maby i wont bother any more.

im not totaly sure but maby the motor that dips your lights is broken on 1 headlight so its not moving down?

EDIT: just seen the other replys, ignore me!

When I bought the philips bulbs.. at the time you got the bluevision side lights included free, which I also fited, and they are fine, I have passed quite a few police cars at night and they havnt seemed to care..this is why I think I havnt done anything about it... and after hearing that I probably wont now

so you guys think I should basically ignore this?

well to be honest i cant see them being any brigheter than xenons on a 172/182 so i cant see the police having any problems

i got the bluevision bulbs free from powerbulbs too wouldnt have even thought about buying them if they wern't free but now that ive seen them fitted i would defo spend the £12 or what ever on a set

I have the Bluevision dip and main beams with Osram Diadem Blue Tint indicators. Don't think I have the tilted at all - just on the normal 1 setting I think.

Passed many police cars etc - no probs - was even stuck behind one for a few mins.

They are so much better than the standard halogens - yes they are bright but that's good for you as you can see so much more at night. As Martin_89 says above, they are no where near as bright as Xenon so don't worry about it - just enjoy them!

By the way I also drive a Dynamique

If you want to be sure do what i said, take them to an MOT place and get them to check alignment, there is nothing in the MOT about having the bulbs too bright, and like was said you'll struggle to get normal bulbs brighter then xneons(?) anyways

i'm guessing you bought the phillips +50% bulbs which have a 20m longer beam than standard, hence the reason you have set ur lights to 4, basically defeating the object of having them, the lights should be set to 0 normally, i wouldnt worry about it really, only thing u could do is put ur old set in.
