they usually do bite high, but you should be able to rest your foot on the pedal without the clutch slipping

i heard about they were high before i got the car, but now its really high, perhaps i have a heavy foot.. but sometimes when i (rag it) or drive faster than usual, changing gears seems to be awful... it doesnt engage as fast as it did before.. the sound of the revs sounds like its stressing to engage into another gear.. what is the friggin problem... and before anyone slates, i know how to drive and the car doesnt feel like it did.. does something need to be replaced?
thanks

My mats are from costco and they're but thick american mats as a result, they're great mats but they don't allow me full throttle, i just slide them back if i want to have somne fun though, think of it as a fuel saving device.

Try resetting the automatic cable adjuster by disconnecting the cable from the clutch fork pulling it out as far as it will go, then press the pedal down as far as it will go and stick the cable back on the fork.
