Clio. II cutting out

  Rnge rover
Hi all, I am new to this forum and already seeking help with a peculiar problem. I am working on an 02 Clio 1.2 which will not run for more than about thirty seconds before the electronic warning light comes on and cuts the ignition. I have checked all the usual suspects, loom, throttle body TDC sensor and fuel pump.
after the engine stops there is a rapid ticking from under the front offside wing which seems to be emanating from a black plastic box bolted to the inner wing. There are petrol pipes going to and from this but I don't know what it is. There seems to be plenty fuel being delivered to the fuel rail.
any suggestions gratefully accepted.

That clicking is normal when there's an issue. You really need it plugging in I'm afraid

CLIP is Renault specific and tells you so much more than a generic reader will. Also, code reading the ECM may not show any codes as the problem may lay elsewhere in one of the many other systems.

Is it possible that this could be the throttle body sensor failed. Anyone near Inverness with Clip please? Local dealer not helpful.

I found today if I disconnect the MAP sensor and start the car, it will run fairly lumpily. If I leave it running and then reconnect the MAP the engine smooths out and runs fine. If I stop the car the problem returns. Is the sensor faulty or could it just be the seal which is not in great shape?
