Righto, the problems started around 3/4 months ago when every so often ( especially when turning thwe key quickly from 2nd click to 3rd starting click ) the car would just turn over and refuse to fire. Leaving the key in the 2nd click for 15-30 seconds would almost guarantee the car starting perfectly.
About 2 months ago this started happening even when the ignition was left in the 2nd click for even up to a minute, occasionally. Once started the car was fine. I pulled the immobiliser battery and re-seated it and whether by coincidence or not the car was fine for about 2 weeks and would start fine.
About a month ago the fault coming back, and noticed this nearly always happened when the car was facing uphill, now when I turned the key occasionally it would turn over for a while, start then lose it's idle. The revs would drop down to about 600, but fluctuate by about 150rpm up and down. ( normally idles perfectly at just under 1000 ) The car would drive perfectly in every other respect, but say when changing gear up a hill or coasting slightly to change gear when coming to a junction the car would drop it's rev's so low it would stall. When restarted the car ran fine with a perfect idle!
Now most times its facing uphill it refuses to start at least once, then goes into having no-idle. After driving for 10mins or so the idle sometimes re-appears but not always! as above, when restarted on the flat the car always behaves itself.
Im led to believe the problem could be any one, or some of the following:
Would really appreciate any help with this one! Googling doesnt seem to come up with any solid answers.
Thanks in advance, Alex

Im led to believe the problem could be any one, or some of the following:
- Immobiliser battery/ fault ( im getting one tomorrow to check )
- TDC crank sensor
- Throttle body needing a clean
- Some box in the back of the woring loom chafing through some wires
- Fuel pump blockage of some kind ( maybe crap from the tank, but i never run my fuel down past 2 bars / 1/4 tank )
