Hi all, first post for me.
I used to live in the UK a looooong time ago but now back in Australia (sorry about the cricket!) Been following this site as a guest for a while as you seem to have all the best info on Clios.
Renault Oz just released it's pricing for the new EDC RS and I have to admit I'm kind of
Fully specced Liquid Yellow Cup "Trophy" EDC is $40,740 AUD which works out to be about £22.5K or about £2K cheaper than the similarly specced Lux version in the UK unless I'm missing some taxes or fees not shown as standard.
("Trophy" appears to be what they're calling the Lux pack here)
That's pretty amazing seeing as we usually have what we call the 'Australia Tax' which equates to whatever the hell a manufacturer wants to shove on the ticket price to "justify" sending anything downunder and is usually a blatant gouge well above any actual shipping costs.
The biggest difference seems to be Liquid Yellow paint only costing about $750 or £400... less than a third of what it costs for you guys. No idea why this is the case - maybe they're trying to raise the profile of the brand with a lot of eye-catching cars driving around.
Anyway I'd written off spending $3000 extra for a yellow car up until this point but now it's tickling my fancy. My only worry is the cost to get the paint redone if some b*****d dings it or worse.
Anyone ever had to repair bodywork on their LY Clio? How hard did it hit your wallet?
Should be having a test drive this weekend.
