Clio may go next year - hard decision though

I know some wont understand this as only had the Clio since July and have done alot to it in the time I have had it.

Coming from my last car which was effortless power and a fantastic motor all round I miss the power and feel of it. It was a Focus ST but with the suspension sorted and power at 350bhp.

Been looking into Impreza's and will be looking to buy one coming into summer next year. Not sure whether to sell the Clio or keep it and get the Impreza as well.

Looking at a blob eye in World Rally Blue in either WRX or STi spec - my Mam currently owns a mildly tuned WRX and its a lovely drivers car.

Simtek ECU with Anti Lag and Launch Control combined with Nur Spec decat exhaust, front mount and Cosworth intake should be good for starters.

Trying to persuade the girlfriend to sell the Ka I just bought her and she can have the Clio but will see how that goes haha.

I did plan on doing alot more trackdays but really dont do enough to warrant a full on trackcar - been using the Clio for work and its great - fantastic handling (currently runs H&R coilovers, Whiteline RARB, Pure Motorsport top mounts, Pure motorsport strut brace and rear strut brace). Thing is though I love power and miss the point and shoot nature of the Turbo cars I am used to.

Anyone done a similar move and sold the Clio?

Honestly think I may regret selling the 172 if I do go down that route

Tax is very similar and running costs arent much of a concern.

No hurry but would like to hear from others who have done this sort of move

lots and most end up back in a clio, i sold my mk1 valver, got 420bhp sapphire cossie, it went bang, got a williams, sold that for a lovely mr2 turbo, not practical for a 2 kid family, ended up in a 172 cup and love it, more power would be nice mind, turbo or s/c yours.......

Looked into forced induction or an F1 engine in it but cant justify it - for the cost of one of these conversions I am near enough Impreza money

I spent thousands on my previous car and wanted something abit cheaper so can put money into my house deposit

Just Sold the 182 and just bought a WR1. If i could have afforded to or the missus wasnt such i wuss id have kept both because the clio is just fantastic for what it is. I have just always dreamed of owning a WR1 since they were launched and you only live once. At the end of the day mate if thats what you want then just buy it. Dont worry about what other people think. Ya can always sell it on and go back to the clio again if you hate it

It is near certain I will get an Impreza but its what is happening with the Clio that is uncertain.

The girlfriend wants the Ford Racing rally kit on her Ka with the matching Racing wheels and suspension so chances are the Clio will get broken or put to standard and sold on. Just abit gutting as want it as a driveway ornament haha

Yeah i know what you mean. Personally there are so many available now its not like you wont find a gud un if you do decide to return. Perhaps even upgrade to a 197
