Clio Mk1 Clocks...

  Clio Dynamique 16v

Hi, Ive just bought a R reg Clio Mk1 1.2i RL for my girlfriend for when she passes her test. Currently it has the very basic clocks with speedo and petrol guague.

I went down the scrappy yesterday and got the high spec clocks out of a 1.2i RN (i think?) which also has a rev-counter and temperature guague.

Does anyone know if this will all work correctly when I fit it? or will it require any re-wiring?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers, Jon

I think when you take the dash off, theres the plug for the rev counter already there, so will just plug in! not sure on the temp gauge! PM Bazzarey, hes done it to his clio!

If the RN is a Phase3, then yes.. it will work. (Should, as the 1.2 RN had a rev counter I think and also the DIET engine)

Else, you might need them converting and a wire putting in to the eDIS module. Cost me £75 to get them converted..

Thanks for the replys :D

Ive just test fitted the clocks, the speedo / fuel / temp and oil guague all work fine!

I found the plug for the rev counter (i think?) taped up in the loom but that doesnt work :(

All the other dash lights all work fine, I was surprised the oil guague worked (it it oil temp / level or pressure?)

Any ideas about the rev-counter?

On the 3 plugs that go on the top, there was a few wires that were on the RN that wernt there on my RL. Anyone know which wire is the rev-counter? I thought it was the 2 pin plug that was taped up?

Cheers, Jon

Anyone know which colour wire works the rev-counter on the mk1 clocks?

Also where does this wire need to be attached to? What / Where is the eDIS module?

Cheers, Jon

The 2 pin plug is from the oil sender if present. (Off top of my head.. from looking at Haynes a couple of years ago!)

pretty sure rev counter is a brown wire.
Thanks for that but on the back of the clocks there is 3 large plugs with 2 dark brown wires on the middle plug and 1 light brown wire on all 3 plugs... they cant all be the rev counter can they?

Anyone know where I can get the feed for the rev-counter from? I hope I dont have to get them converted

Everything else is working fine :D just need to sort the milage out
